STORY TIME

Storytelling is an important tool for a child to learn about emotions….

Emotions are the first thing that a child connects to as soon as he is born….

Emotional give and take with parents can change the whole picture of how a particular baby grows up….

Have you thought of how you as a parent react when your toddler falls down is teaching him…how to react as ‘life lessons’ when he or she ’FALLs’ in any contex…..

STORYTELLING everyday WITH PICTURES for the first 3 years (where imagination is still taking shape) is crucial and can teach the child many social contexts, emotions, relationships and so on….

And guess what you can start it as soon as they arrive in the world … .starting from stories happening around them….

Note: We can show picture books to babies as young as 2-3 months old and they enjoy looking at toys books in TUMMY TIME.

## Milestone Checklist

It can be helpful to check your child’s progress against typical development. These “red flags” often suggest that an evaluation is a good idea:

12–15 Months

Not using gestures (waving, pointing) or not saying "Mama" or "Dada."

18–24 Months

Prefers pointing/grunting over words; has a vocabulary of fewer than 50 words.

2–3 Years

Speech is difficult for family members to understand; not combining two words (e.g., "more milk").

4–5 Years

Difficulty following classroom directions or persistent stuttering (repeating the first sound of words).
